Launch of Pediatric Cancer Predisposition Panel

Beginning July 22 2026, the Cancer Genetics and Genomics Laboratory (CGL) at BC Cancer – Vancouver has validated a custom Pediatric Cancer Predisposition Panel on a whole genome backbone.

This panel was developed in collaboration with our colleagues at BC Children’s and Women’s Hospital Pediatric Oncology and Medical Genetics clinics.  This panel will assess both small nucleotide changes and copy number changes in 130 genes. Additional information is available on the Germline Panel webpage.

This Panel can only be ordered by the Pediatric Oncologists and Geneticists within the Medical Genetics clinic at BC Children’s and Women’s Hospital and is available for any patient on active anti-cancer therapy, diagnosed since January 1, 2026, or who has been referred to the Medical Genetics Clinic with the suspicion of having a genetic risk of cancer.
